WHEN LOVE BECOME LUST

14:04

I was admiring a female friend facebook photo in my heart, when the Holy Spirit cautioned me not to let love turn to lust in my heart because I was over admiring; then I withdrew. What can make love turn to lust? What are the ramifications where love can turn to lust? What are the causes of love turning to lust. Love can turn to lust when what make you love the person or thing is no more of interest to you but you still want to have relationship with the person, so you look for other thing to keep the relationship going. For example, if you have a friend you love dearly because of his/her character, love will become lust if you are not looking at the character and you are now looking at worldly things like money, beauty, position or even sex to keep the relationship going. You don’t even mind if your friend character goes haywire; once you see other things that make you happy, you continue the relationship. We can therefore attribute lust to be of the flesh and love to be of the spirit; once the love you are having for someone is not having a single feature of charity (LOVE), then it is lust! Here are the features of love, check your heart, are you in true love?
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 New International Version (NIV)
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

The opposite of above are the feature of lust that is, lust is not patient, in the sense that “I want to have it now” statement and so on. Love can become lust in marriage when the only thing a couple do together is sex. That is a big lust of highest order, is that the primary reason for getting married, love became lust. We Christians need to pray against asmodee the spirit of lust and sexual sins.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Lust is an emotion or feeling of intense desire in the body. The lust can take any form such as the lust for knowledge, the lust for sex or the lust for power. It can take such mundane forms as the lust for food as distinct from the need for food.
