He Died Because of Love

04:44

Have you ever truly love someone who doesn't love you back? Love in its generic form either in family, romantic, agape, etc is not complete until the other party reciprocates. Once or more in our lifetime, we have loved someone that didn't love us back, brokenness in our heart may seem irreparable but with times we move on.

Here is Someone who is 'madly' in love with mankind for several thousand years and man continues to break His heart. I have a tip of the iceberg taste of this heartbreak when the Lord put someone's love in my heart and this person somehow dislikes me or lets me say she is unfriendly. I became worried, heartbroken, sometimes I cried. But one night, in the middle of the night, God sat me down and explained to me how He experiences heartache towards me. He told me He needed my attention, He needed intimacy with me. He said I am feeling the same way he feels toward me. Being heartbroken is not a pleasant feeling, it is emotional cancer. By now I have taken us into the realm of heartbreak and we can feel it.

Now, let's go back to the topic of the day He Died Because of Love. ``Who died because of love? Jesus Christ did. God was in love with mankind, but we break His heart every day, when He couldn't longer hold it, because of love He came down from Heaven in the person of Jesus Christ, laid down His, was crucified and He died. Why? To prove His love.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Underline the word so loved, that is an indication that the love was so much, it is love that is unconditional. Prior to my writing of this article this morning, I began to imagine the mind of God full of love for mankind. Because of love, He was accused falsely, because of love, He was beaten shamefully, He wore a crown of thorns, He died on the cross. Aha! what manner of love is this?

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.  Romans 5: 6-10 KJV

To get a clearer view of this passage, let's read NIV translation

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
Sincerely, I felt like I should stop typing right now because the above bible text is a mystery. How would someone die for His enemy? That is incredible! People with a good heart and bravery can still try to lay down their lives to rescue the people they love and such persons love them back. But I've not seen someone who died to save his enemy. I've never heard in a story or read it in a book. Jesus Christ died for us while we yet sinners, while we were yet God's enemy. He used His death to reconcile us to Himself.
As we remember the passion of Christ today, think about this love. Have you accepted the love of Christ in your heart or are you still breaking His heart? if you're yet to be born again. Here is another opportunity. Jesus loves you.
Acknowledge yourself as a sinner, confess your sins, repent and forsake your sins. Call upon the Blood of Jesus to cleanse you, when you sincerely do this, Jesus will save, He will let you know that the work is done, the joy of heaven will fill your soul and you will become a new creature.
If you're already saved, it is time to show the love of God to all and sundry, preach the Gospel, don't relent. The Harvest is near, relief the Lord as much as you can from His daily heartbreak.
As I end this article, I want you to sing this song with me
1 Have you heard the story of the cross,
Where Jesus bled and died,
When your doubt was paid by his precious blood
That gushed from his wounded side.

Refrain:
He died of a broken heart for thee,
He died of a broken heart;
O, wondrous love! it was for thee,
He died of a broken heart.
2 Have you heard how they placed the crown of thorns
Upon his lovely brow,
When he prayed, “forgive them, O forgive,
They know not what they do?” [Refrain]
3 Have you heard that he saved the dying thief,
When hanging on the tree,
Who looked with pitying eyes and said,
“Dear Lord, remember me?” [Refrain]
4 Have you heard that he looked to heav’n and said,
“’Tis finished”—all for thee?
Have you ever said, “I thank thee, Lord,
For giving thy life for me?” [Refrain]

God Bless you
