What was Jesus Doing in The Grave in The 3 days

09:01

Have you ever thought about what Jesus Christ was doing when He gave up His Spirit? Was He in the grave sleeping or resting or He ascended into Heavens?

Matthew 27:50-52 (KJV) stated what happened while Jesus Christ gave up the Ghost

50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent

It is clearly stated in the Scriptures that Jesus The Christ descended into the hades to preach the Gospel. The Gospel is the good news, the Gospel is Jesus Christ Himself and the power of God to deliver from sin. In NIV, version of the Bible. The preaching was translated as proclamation.

1 Peter 3:18-20 New International Version (NIV)

18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. 19 After being made alive,[a] he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits— 20 to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water

Do you know the spirits that Christ preached to? I guess you don't know. Come right with me on a journey in the spirit.

Immediately, Jesus Christ gave up the ghost, He appeared in the Hades. Hades is the abode of the dead, both righteous dead and sinners. The difference is that there is a great pit or chasm that divides Paradise or Abraham's bosom from Hell. When Jesus Christ arrived at the hades, he went to hell to proclaim victory over the fallen angels that do not want Messiah to come. These fallen angels' mission is to pollute the human race so that no woman will be fit to birth the Messiah. The fallen angels were referred to as the sons of God in the book of Genesis, they came to defile the daughters of men and they gave birth to giants.

Genesis 6: 1-4

When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them

the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.

Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with [1] man forever, for he is mortal [2] ; his days will be a hundred and twenty years."

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown Nephilim are also known as giants.

If you read further, you will see how God was angry with man because man has been polluted by these angels. God destroyed the earth with flood. Those angels that defiled men were put in prisons.

Jude 1:6

And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day

These were the imprisoned spirits that Christ was preaching to. Of course, He is not preaching repentance to them, he was proclaiming His victory over them.

Jesus Christ went further in hell to strip satan and his cohort naked. He disarmed them, collected all the gifts they have stolen from man.

Psalm 68:18 King James Version (KJV)

18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the Lord God might dwell among them.

Ephesians 4:8-10 King James Version (KJV)

8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

How did Christ overcome the powers of darkness in hell, is there any record in the Bible? Who witnessed it?
